 On December 27 on the occasion of the New Year and Holy Nativity the President of the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan invited the heads of the mass media and the journalists to a festive reception. Welcoming the attendees the NA President has cordially congratulated them on the occasion of the New Year and Holy Nativity and has noted that year by year the joint work with the press is becoming more effective, and the society - more informed. The NA President has also talked about the achievements and gaps of 2014, has touched upon the works to be done in 2015, noting that, particularly, on the threshold of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide the role of the journalists and the press will be great in consolidating the Armenian people.

By the order of the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan, the Director of the Centre for Public Relations and Information of the RA President’s Staff Ara Saghatelyan was awarded the RA NA Medal of Honour for the significant contribution to the sphere of public relations and information sphere in the state administration system. The Editor-in-Chief Anahit Voskanyan of the information website Panorama.am for giving objective information to the public, comprehensively presenting the work of the parliament and Gayane Khachatryan (168 hour newspaper), Maria Asatryan (News.am information website), Anush Dashtents (Tert.am information website), Shant Khlghatyan (Armenpress state information agency), Hripsime Jebejyan (Aravot daily) for comprehensively and decently covering the works of the RA National Assembly were awarded the RA NA diploma, and Ruzanna Stepanyan (Azatutyun Radio station), Lusine Vasilyan (Radiolur information agency), Marianna Ghahramanyan (Armnews TV company), Narine Iritsyan (A1plus information website), the cameraman Karen Petrosyan (Mir TV company) were awarded the RA NA President’s Letters of Appreciation. For providing open and transparent work of the state department and effectively cooperating with the mass media, the Adviser to the RA General Prosecutor Kristine Melkonyan, the Press Secretary of the RA Minister of Nature Protection Tehimine Arzumanyan, the Press Secretary of the RA Minister of Agriculture Ani Smbatyan and for keeping at the centre of public attention the activity of the legislative power, for the professional, operative and unbiased work the Armenpress state information agency, Aravot daily editorial, Armnews TV company were awarded the RA NA President’s Letters of Appreciation. For operatively informing the public about the activity of the armed forces, for strengthening the society-army relation the Press Secretary of the RA Minister of Defence Artsrun Hovhannisyan, for public work, quick response and many years experience in the sphere of public relations the Head of the Public Relations and Information Department of the RA Police Ashot Aharonyan, for giving objective information to the public, for comprehensively presenting the work of the parliament the founder and the editor-in-chief of Orer.am information-analytical website Varuzhan Babajanyan were awarded the RA NA President’s souvenirs, nominal wathces.
