PRESIDENT MEETS AMBASSADORS OF EU COUNTRIES ACCREDITED TO ARMENIA

President Serzh Sargsyan today held a working dinner with the ambassadors of European Union (EU) countries accredited to the Republic of Armenia (RA) and the Head of the EU Delegation to the RA, Ambassador Traian Hristea.
During the meeting, which was held in its traditional format, the Armenian President talked with the ambassadors about RA foreign policy issues, reflecting upon the items on the Armenia-EU agenda and the prospects for cooperation, Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as upon regional issues and challenges.
Serzh Sargsyan thanked the EU for supporting Armenia in implementing multi-sectoral reforms in the last few years, including for its financial aid and continued commitment to rendering assistance in the upcoming years.
The Armenian President noted that he was sure nowadays, it was possible to pursue effective policies only through dialogue, mutual understanding and combination of integration systems which was proved by the present dynamics of international relations.
Serzh Sargsyan also presented the recent developments around the peace process of the NKR conflict, as well as Armenia’s and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs’ efforts aimed at peaceful resolution of the conflict, touched upon Azerbaijan’s destructive policy and provocative actions that put the process at risk, the last one being the shoot-down of the NKR DA helicopter which was conducting a training flight along Artsakh’s frontline.
The President introduced the participants of the meeting to a number of multi-sectoral reforms being carried out in Armenia, including the process of RA constitutional amendments.
The parties exchanged views on the aforementioned topics.
