PM Holds Consultation with Marz Governors
25.11.2014
Chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, a consultative meeting was held in the Office of Government, attended by Marz Governors.
The meeting discussed ongoing activities and programs, summed up the achievements and the problems faced in the provinces. In particular, the Governors reported back progress with infrastructure development projects, government programs and the community revenue collection process.
During the consultation, reference was made to the government-supported program of provision of affordable seeds, fertilizers and diesel fuel to farmers.
Describing the program as quite effective, the Governors said it had been a long way toward promoting the development of agriculture, with tangible growth recorded in the production of farm products. At the same time, they noted that the program has a social bias as it helps farmers get high-quality seeds, fertilizers and diesel fuel at an affordable price. In this context, the speakers stressed the importance of program continuity.
Considering the drawbacks stated during program implementation, the Premier told the Governors to submit proposals to streamline the program and maximize its efficiency.
In conclusion, the meeting discussed steps to enhance efficiency in the activities of regional administrations.
