 On November 24 the President of the National Assembly Claude Bartolone received the delegation led by the NA President Galust Sahakyan. In the National Assembly of France Galust Sahakyan has thanked his colleague for the warm reception and has noted that the relations with France occupy a special place on the foreign political agenda of Armenia. In his word, that circumstance is conditioned by the weighty role of France in the international arena, as well as the fact of France being an OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair country in the format of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement. During the meeting Galust Sahakyan has documented that in the development of inter-state relations with France the historical-cultural centuries-old ties of the two peoples also serve as a serious factor. “It is also impossible to ignore the fact that France is the first country in the world that has recognized the Armenian Genocide by the force of law,” Galust Sahakyan has noted. Speaking about the inter-parliamentary cooperation the NA President has noted in particular: “In the development of inter-state relations between the two countries the inter-parliamentary close cooperation has an important role. With this respect I shall consider to underline the effective activity of the Armenian-French Friendship Groups formed in the parliaments of Armenia and France.

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of France Claude Bartolone thanked the NA President Galust Sahakyan for being in France on a working visit. Speaking about the bilateral relations the President of the National Assembly of France has highlighted the presence of the Armenian big community in France comprised of about half a million of Armenians. Claude Bartolone has reaffirmed that the Artsakh conflict should be solved in peaceful means in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group.

At the end of the meeting the Head of the Parliament of the Republic of Armenia Galust Sahakyan invited the President of the National Assembly of France to take part in the events to be held in April 2015.

On the same day in Paris the NA President Galust Sahakyan took part in the economic forum titled “Armenia as an Entrance to the Eurasian Economic Union Market.”
