Government Supports Investment Programs

A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.
The Government extended till November 3, 2017 the VAT payment deadline for goods and equipment worth over 200 million drams, imported as part of the investment program implemented by Progress Agro LLC. The company has invested around 7.8 billion drams to build a 16-hectare greenhouse facility in Kotayk province of Armenia.
With another decision, the Government extended till September 27, 2016 the deadline of the customs regime accorded to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) Zoology and Biology Center-affiliated Institute of Hydroecology and Pisciculture for Hydrologist ship, which is owned by the Russian Federation and is implementing a joint research program to survey the ecological status of Lake Sevan under a cooperation arrangement signed between the NAS and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
The Cabinet passed another decision to grant a 3-year extension over the temporary import customs regime for the goods and equipment imported by the Armenia subsidiary of Hormigones y Morteros Serrano S.L. The Company is the sub-contractor of CORSAN-CORVIAM CONSTRUCCION SA, which is implementing the North-South Road Corridor reconstruction project.
Three more decisions were adopted to approve the procedure for the formation and maintenance of the unified registry of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) certification bodies’ and testing labs’ (centers’) registry of certification, the certificate of conformity and declaration of conformity for the establishment and maintenance of the registry, the rules for the drafting of certificates and declarations in conformity with the EEU technical regulations, as well as the certification form (in Russian and Armenian) and the order of the registration statement in line with the EEU technical regulations.
The meeting approved the TOR for modernization or introduction of new information systems as part of Armenia’s membership to the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
The Government accepted the proposals to sign two agreements between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation on the provision of an interstate export credit financing loan with a view to extending ANPP operations and on follow-up cooperation toward extending the operations of the nuclear power plant’s second unit.
