PRESIDENT ATTENDS OPENING OF EXHIBITION OF POLISH-ARMENIAN PAINTER TEODOR AXENTOWICZ’S WORKS

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan accompanied by Poland’s First Lady Anna Komorowska who has arrived in Armenia on a working visit at Mrs. Rita Sargsyan’s and his own invitation and Armenian and Polish cultural and art workers today attended the opening of an exhibition of Polish-Armenian painter Teodor Axentowicz’s works at the National Picture-Gallery of Armenia. Polish Ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski, other foreign ambassadors to Armenia, the Mayor of Sopot Jacek Karnowski and the Director of Sopot State Gallery of Arts Zbigniew Buski also visited the exhibition. The exhibition held under the patronage of the Armenian and Polish Presidents, displays around 53 paintings and graphic paintings by the painter.
Within the framework of the initiative of the two countries’ presidents on organizing joint exhibitions in cooperation with the National Picture-Gallery of Armenia there took place vernissages of the exhibitions “Ivan Aivazovsky: Time and Eternity” and “The Polish-Armenian Teodor Axentowicz” at Sopot State Gallery of Arts dedicated to the famous Armenian marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky and Teodor Axentowicz.
