PM Attends International Architects’ Day-Dedicated Event

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended a gala event dedicated to the International Day of Architects, which was held in the government’s conference hall.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and himself, the Premier warmly congratulated the architects in attendance. Hovik Abrahamyan noted that everyone in Armenia is proud of our national architectural heritage, which is characterized by high-level development, originality and a wealth of artistic traditions. According to the head of government, the Armenian architecture holds a worthy place in the international architectural heritage.
“Over many centuries, active cultural contacts and relationships with other nations have influenced the Armenian architecture, but it has kept its national identity, permanently anchored in the rich traditions of our national culture,” the Prime Minister said.
Hovik Abrahamyan noted that thanks to our architects’ work, new, beautiful and more reliable houses, buildings and public facilities are being built in Armenia. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that in spite of differences, architects in Armenia are united around a common goal, which is the best pledge for coping with the multitude of imminent challenges.
“Construction and, of course, architecture, are the key to economic growth. Therefore, the Government of the Republic of Armenia will continue with its drive to develop this branch of industry,” Hovik Abrahamyan said, wishing the architects fruitful work and new creative achievements for the sake of our motherland.
On the International Architects’ Day, as well as for significant contribution to architecture and urban development, Prime Minister’s diplomas were handed to chief architect of Armproject OJSC, Honored Architect of the Republic of Armenia, member of the Union of Architects Sashur Kalashyan, Head of the Department of Architecture of the Armenian University of Architecture and Construction Fund, Honored Architect of the Republic of Armenia, member of the Union of Architects Harry Rashidyan, members of the Union of Architects Hrach Poghosyan, Ashot Alexanyan and Gourgen Musheghyan.
