RA NA Deputy Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan Meets with the Ambassador of Ukraine

 On September 25 the RA NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan met with Ivan Kukhta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the RA. In the course of the meeting the sides discussed the inner political situation in Ukraine and details concerning the authorities’ actions aimed at the re-establishment of peace. The Ambassador of Ukraine, particularly, presented the essence of a number of legislative draft laws and normative documents being elaborated by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine aimed at mitigating the current complicated and tense situation in Lugansk and Donetsk, including the establishing of the Amnesty Act, the setting of administrative boundaries, the importance of the local self-government bodies elections to be held in the near future and the ceasefire establishment. The NA Vice President Hermine Naghdalyan in her turn has highly assessed the peaceful settlement efforts of the Ukrainian authorities, expressing hope that brotherly Ukraine would finally find its peace and quiescence and would be able to overcome the pain that the Ukrainian people was suffering during the whole war period. Mrs Naghdalyan has observed important the fact of peoples’ right to self-determination, expressing hope that if it is finally established, legitimate result is recorded, it will be admissible for all the nations, underlining its all-human significance, especially in the context of the Armenians’ centuries-old struggle. In this sense, the parties have highly appreciated the existence of the Armenian community in Ukraine, which integrating to the country’s life and reality, has its contribution to the establishment of firm relations between the two brotherly peoples, the Ukrainians and the Armenians, and in the statehood building of the country. In the course of the meeting the parties have also touched upon the works envisaged in the upcoming PACE Plenary Session. At the end of the meeting the NA Vice President sent her best wishes to the Ukrainian people, wishing them peace, welfare and prosperity.
