On September 16 the President of the RA National Assembly Galust Sahakyan received Tian Changchun, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia, whose diplomatic mission comes to an end in the Republic of Armenia.

The RA NA President has noted that the cooperation with the People’s Republic of China is one of the priorities of the Republic of Armenia, and during the recent period the cooperation with China more deepens, the evidence of which is the assistance of China in the numerous programmes being implemented in our country. The RA NA President Galust Sahakyan highly assessed the balanced position of the Republic of China in Nagorno Karabakh issue. Touching upon the events dedicated to the centenary of the Armenian Genocide, the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan noted: “The series of events designed next year has a goal to reach the condemnation of genocides by the whole international community.” He expressed hope that the delegation of the People’s Republic of China will also take part in the events scheduled in Yerevan next year.

Expressing his gratitude to the RA NA President for the effective cooperation, the Ambassador Tian Changchun touched upon the Armenian-Chinese friendship, which has a centuries-old history and assured that cooperation of Armenia and China will further deepen and develop in future.

At the end of the meeting the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan thanked the Ambassador for the fruitful cooperation, wishing him success in all his initiatives.
