Hovik Abrahamyan: our nation’s safety is guaranteed in emergency situations

 Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan attended an emergency worker day-dedicated event in the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Congratulating the Ministry staff on behalf of the his government and himself, Hovik Abrahamyan stated in part, “Being on the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is a vocation that you are honoring with dignity and great sense of responsibility, ready to put at stake your own lives in order to protect our populations against emergencies at any time. The Ministry’s multifaceted activities allow me to state with confidence that the nation’s safety is guaranteed in emergency situations. That was made possible through the acquisition of new knowledge and skill, as well as the introduction and application of modern methods. I am proud to say that your efforts are appreciated far beyond Armenia’s borders, which went a long way toward enhancing our country’s international standing.”

At the same time, the Premier said much has to be done yet on the way to absolute perfection in terms of building research capacity, improving disaster management and modernizing the alarm system. However, Hovik Abrahamyan expressed confidence that the Ministry’s ongoing efforts will lead to positive results in the near future.

I want to assure you that the Government of the Republic of Armenia will keep sustained focus on the development and improvement objectives, taking consistent steps toward improving emergency workers’ working conditions and welfare status,” the Prime Minister said and wished the staff happiness, prosperity and safe service.

For excellent service and many achievements, Prime Minister’s commemorative medals were awarded to Head of National Safety Standards Center Public Relations Department Sevak Mkhitaryan, and Director of National Disaster Risk Reduction Platform Foundation Movses Poghosyan. The Premier’s letters of appreciation were handed in to Deputy Chief of Staff Armenuhi Grigoryan and Deputy Head of Rescue Service, General of Rescue Service Nikolai Grigoryan.
