The Mayor had a working visit to Kentron district

Within the frames of the working visit to Kentron district Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was in North avenue. Accompanied by the head of the district and by the manager of the company carrying out the construction, the Mayor visited the building site and familiarized himself with the process. It was reported that the central granite part of the avenue with the surface of 8600 sq m and the basal side segments with the surface of 3600 sq m will be reconstructed and designed on the total surface of the avenue-12200 sq m. The system of external lighting is to be renewed and updated with modern solutions. A pair of escalators will be working on the both sides of the avenue. The Mayor instructed the persons in charge to pay particular attention to the landscaping of the green areas.
“North avenue is a lively walking and recreation zone. It was necessary repair the pavement. Taking the opportunity I’d like to thank “Tashir group” company headed by Samvel Karapetyan for undertaking these activities. This is another example of successful cooperation with the private sector. The company has planned to invest about USD 6 million to the realization of the current work and in fact, this is a gift for Yerevan. It’s very important that the green zones of the avenue, as well as the number of benches and the illumination network will be expanded. In a word, when the work is over we will have a very presentable, effectively managed area which will be highly appreciated by everybody”, said Taron Margaryan.
Then, accompanied by the head of the district the Mayor familiarized himself with the road construction being carried out in the segment between Arami and Buzand streets which is provided by the General plan of the Yerevan.
The persons in charge reported that the road of about 90 m length and 12 m width will relieve the traffic and the pedestrians’ movement in this central part of the city. Watching the activities Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed persons in charge to keep the quality of work under everyday control and to finish the work as it was scheduled.
