 During his working visit to Kentron district, with the aim of familiarizing himself with the process of construction and improvement of the capital to be carried out within the scope of the 4-year program of Yerevan development, Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the building site of the park situated in the segment between nalbandyan and Hanrapetutyan streets of Main avenue.
Within the frames of the program of complex improvement the recreation zone with the surface of 13200 sq m will be soon put into operation. The persons in charge reported that Mayor that according to the draft, the area of 5976 sq m will be paved with concrete, basalt and travertine slabs. Besides, 706 m of kerbs will be installed. 5 wheelchair ramps will be installed for people with disabilities. 3 water-basins with fountains are to be constructed too. Benches and dust bins are to be installed along the whole area, a system of external illumination is to be provided as well. To provide the irrigation of the green areas an irrigation network of 1470 m length is to be installed.
Answering the questions of the journalists the Mayor noted that the improvement of this area has been rightly demanded and desired by the residents of Yerevan.
“Taking into account the fact that this park is in the heart of the capital we couldn’t neglect it as it used to be for years. We have started the work since May. On this draft it can be seen that the park will be turned into a beautiful recreation zone. The process is at the focus of our attention and in October we are going to hand it to Yerevanians”, said Taron Margaryan. The Mayor instructed the persons in charge to keep the quality of work and the time of implementation under everyday control.
