PM inspects Yerevan-Sevan-Idjevan-Azerbaijani border road reconstruction works

 Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited today the reconstruction site for M-4, Yerevan-Sevan-Idjevan-Azerbaijani border interstate highway road section leading from Tsovagyukh to Dilijan tunnel (73.2-83.12 km)to inspect rehabilitation works.

The road works have been carried out under the 2014 state budget program of state road reconstruction projects, to a total cost of 1 billion 180 million drams. The Prime Minister was introduced to the ongoing activities, the results and the future plans/

Minister of Transport and Communications Gagik Beglaryan reported that the reconstruction works are carried out under daily control and will be completed late August under favorable weather conditions.

Underway from this July 16, the Yerevan-Sevan-Idjevan-Azerbaijani border interstate highway – rehabilitation works are ensured by The Way Ltd., involving 21 units of equipment and 60 employees.

500-meter asphalt road is laid daily all the way along a section of 7480 meters using new technology – the cooling method. The old roadbed serves as a road base on which to apply two-layered asphalt concrete covering.

For the time being, M-4-M-14-Tsovagyugh - Semyonovka - M - 4 motorway can be used as an alternative route to get from Yerevan to Dilijan and Idjevan.
