15.07.2014
Within the frames of the working visit to Arabkir district Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan watched the process of implementation of the obligatory improvement determined by the decision of the Council of Elders of Yerevan “On determination of the order of obligatory improvement of the real estate and public areas within the administrative jurisdiction of Yerevan”.
Accompanied by the head of the district and the persons in charge the Mayor walked about and familiarized himself with the activities carried out by the owners and leasers of the entities located in Komitas avenue regarding meeting their contractual obligations. In accordance with the decision of the Council of Elders N 48-N made in 2009, any private company developing its activity in the capital as well as the structures of state significance in any season are obliged to keep the rules of improvement and landscaping.
‘To keep control over the implementation of the decision of the Council of Elders of Yerevan last year we initiated creation of appropriate information system which has been operating effectively for more than half a year and which includes complete information on the state of the trade, service and other establishments of public significance. Installation of this system has played a very important role as due to it has become clear that of 15000 entities 14 000 are to be improved. These entities have been notified many times about the improvement activities. Corresponding schemes were given to the economy entities by us”, said Taron Margaryan.
In the areas adjacent to 11.634 entities corresponding measures have already been taken and the areas have been brought to proper look. Of the registered entities 4 668 ones have the areas to be landscaped and in 3 080 of them the process of landscaping has been over.
Appreciating the work done Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that the process is to be kept under permanent control.
Referring to those entities which fail their obligations the mayor stressed that such owners or leasers are to be disciplined in accordance with the law. Since the beginning of the year 877 entities have been disciplined for not meeting the requirements of the corresponding decision.
“Our aim is not to apply administrative punishment. It’s more important for us that everybody should understand that Yerevan is our common home and everyone is obliged to keep it clean and well-arranged. That is why our measures taken in this direction will be stringent”, said Mayor Taron Margaryan.
Talking to the economy entities Taron Margaryan thanked them for the work done, and stressed once again that the Municipality of Yerevan is always willing to support them within its powers in the issue of obligatory improvement.
The entities in their turn noted that they carry out the improvement activities with pleasure.
