Within the frames of the official visit to the NKR Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan together with the RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan took part in the ceremony of opening 7 tufa sculptures made by the students of Yerevan State Art College after Panos Terlemezyan and granted to Stapenakert. This project implemented by the initiative of Mrs Rita Sargsyan and under the support of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was carried out within the frames of cooperation established between Yerevan and Stepanakert.
Each of the seven tufa sculptures has a special symbol. Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan pointed out that altogether these sculptures are additional evidence of Yerevan presence in Stepanakert. The sculptures were placed in different parts of Stepanakert according to their thematic features. The sculpture called "A woman with a jug" solemnly unveiled by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and Stepenakert Mayor Suren Grigoryan was placed nearby the Municipality of Stepanakert. Attaching particular importance to the participation of the college in this initiative the director of the Art college after P. Terlemezyan Anna Mnatsakanyan-Anushanyan in her turn noted that while creating each of the sculpures the students put their soul into it. She also added that such a cooperation with Stepanakert will be long-lasting.
Expressing gratitude to Mrs Rita Sargsyan and to Mayor Taron Margaryan for the implementation of such a project Stepanakert Mayor Suren Grigoryan assured on behalf of all the residents of Stepanakert that all the seven sculptures: "A woman with a jug", "Bread", "A cock", "Fertility", "Arega", "A cat" and "A deer" will always be at the attention and care of the Municipality of Stepanakert.
