 On July 3 the RA NA President Galust Sahakyan received Remo Ruffini, Director of the International Centre for Relativistic Astrophysics (ICRA) Network, Massimo Della Valle, Director of Naples Astronomical Observatory, and Narek Sahakyan, Head of RAIC Network Armenian branch, who were taking part in the first international meeting of the Relativistic Astrophysics International Centre Network in Yerevan from June 30 to July 4.

Welcoming the guests the NA President highlighted the role of science in the development of our country, considering Armenia’s membership to the ICRA Network jointly with Italy, Brazil and Vatican an honour. Emphasizing the conduct of the conference in Yerevan, Galust Sahakyan has noted that the organization of researches and studies in the sphere of astrophysics in Armenia is based on deep scientific traditions and potential, and Viktor Hambardzumyan and his school have greatly contributed to it. He highly assessed the role of the ICRA Network Regional Center, which can be of major importance for using the Armenian scientists’ potential, supporting researches and implementing educational programs.

Thanking for the reception, the ICRA Network Director Remo Ruffini highly appreciated Armenia’s membership to the ICRA Network and spotlighted the conduct of such meetings, during which numerous discoveries are registered and noted that there had already been several big scientific discoveries during the conference.

Massimo Della Valle, Director of Naples Astronomical Observatory, highly assessed the cooperation with Armenia and noted that he had defended his scientific dissertation supervised by Viktor Hambardzumyan in Armenia.
