 On May 29 the RA NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan received Bassam Muhammad Al-Qabandi, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Kuwait. The Head of Armenia-Kuwait Friendship Group Araik Hovhannisyan attended the meeting.

The Ambassador congratulated Galust Sahakyan on the occasion of being elected the NA Speaker and conveyed the congratulatory message and best wishes from the Speaker of the National Assembly of Kuwait Marzouq Al-Ghanim.

Thanking for congratulations the NA Speaker highly assessed the successfully developing Armenian-Kuwaiti inter-state relations. He has noted that the Armenian people remember with gratefulness the humanitarian step of the Arab people, who have taken refuge thousands of Armenians survived from the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by Ottoman Turkey and thanked the State of Kuwait for the caring attitude towards the Armenian community. Mr Sahakyan has noted that he, as the NA Speaker, is ready to support the Ambassador’s any initiative aimed at the development and strengthening of cooperation between the two friendly countries.

In the course of the meeting both sides highlighted the further deepening of the inter-parliamentary relations, the work of the Friendship Groups, the bilateral contacts, the development of trade-economic cooperation and the activation of the investment programmes.
