PM Receives World Bank Regional Director

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received World Bank Regional Director Henry Kerali. The meeting was attended by World Bank Country Director Jean-Michel Happi.

Welcoming the guests, the Prime Minister praised the World Bank for effective cooperation and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to build on the achievements. In turn, the World Bank regional director congratulated Hovik Abrahamyan on appointment and wished him fruitful work. Henry Kerali emphasized that the Bank is Armenia’s reliable partner, while Armenia is among the best countries in terms of its portfolio performance.

Mr. Kerali assured that the Bank will continue to assist the Government with the ongoing reforms in order to achieve a higher level of interaction. The parties discussed a broad range of issues concerning the current status and the prospects of GoA-WB cooperation, including the country partnership strategy priorities for the period 2014-2017.

In this context, they reviewed reforms in public administration, inspection, civil aviation, tax administration and a number of other spheres.
