On May 13 the NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov received Canan Atilgan, Regional Head of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung/Foundation.

Eduard Sharmazanov has positively assessed the activity of Konrad Adenauer Foundation, which is aimed at democracy, protection of human rights, spreading of ideas of justice and has always contributed to the development of these values in Armenia.

The NA Vice President has assured that Armenia’s decision of the accession to the Customs Union has not reduced the possibilities of dialogue with the European Union and cooperation with the European organizations: moreover, Armenia will resolutely continue and develop the political dialogue with the European Union.

Mrs Atilgan has noted that their activity is aimed at the development of cooperation of Germany-Armenia, EU-Armenia and Konrad Adenauer Foundation-the Republican Party of Armenia, and from now on they are ready to support the processes of democratic reforms of Armenia and European integration.

During the meeting the sides discussed the issue of cooperation of the National Assembly with the Foundation, the assistance of the Foundation to the structures of the parliament and the possibilities of implementing joint programmes.

At the guest’s request the NA Vice President also presented his notions and evaluations on the regional security, the inner-political situation of the country, the programme policy of the newly formed government.
