Another Investment Program Supported By Government

A Cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan.

The government decided to extend until May 10, 2017 the deadline for payment of VAT by KAGA Agro LLC on goods worth over AMD200mn, imported under its investment program.

KAGA Agro is going to invest about 834 million drams in a 2 ha-wide greenhouse facility to be built in Kotayk Marz, owing to which modern equipment will be imported from Holland, some 40 jobs will be created and the level of output will rise to nearly 0.56 billion drams in 2015.

Based on the procedure set for the expertise of urban development documents by the relevant government decree, the Government established an ad hoc commission for examination of detailed designs for reconstruction of Talin- Gyumri road sections along the North-South road corridor and approved its composition.

In accordance with the Republic of Armenia law “On international treaties of the Republic of Armenia,” the Government accepted the proposal on signing amendment N5 to the assistance agreement between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the United States on promoting a more competitive and diversified private sector. The amended project implies additional allocation of USD653077.18.

The meeting established the number of admissions to higher educational institutions for full-time undergraduate and graduate scholarship programs in the 2014/2015 academic year. Another decision was passed to set the number of admissions to for postgraduate and doctoral studies in the 2014/2015 academic year.

The Government decided to rename and reorganize the Yerevan Linguistic University after V. Bryusov into “Yerevan Linguistic and Social Science University after V. Bryusov SNCO” and approved its charter. The decision is supposed to result in further development of the university, with new perspectives, wider scope of training and business activities.

A similar decision was adopted to reorganize the Vanadzor State Pedagogical Institute after H. Toumanyan into “Vanadzor State University after H. Toumanyan SNCO.” The meeting approved the new edition of the University statute, which sets out the types of entrepreneurial activities.

With the next decision on education, the Government approved the list of those organizations which prior to the entry into force of this decree, had delivered educational robots under the Information Technology Union-implemented program entitled “Robotics Begins at School,” establishing they are supplied free of charge. The decision was needed to exempt from VAT the educational robots delivery operations.

The Government approved the estimates of non-budgetary accounts for the following programs: “Paid service for issuing or replacement of passports,” “Providing Police-mediated safety and security services on behalf of the Republic of Armenia on a contractual basis,” and “Providing paid healthcare services and medical care.”

Aramayis Grigoryan was relieved of the post of Ararat Marz Governor to move to another public office.
