Prime Minister Welcomes Russian Minister of Transport

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan received Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov. The Prime Minister of Armenia and the Minister of Transport of Russia are the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

Welcoming the guests, Hovik Abrahamyan assured of his willingness to continue cooperating in all the matters relating to bilateral relations. “I am aware that there is a serious potential built up in the activities of the intergovernmental commission. We boast significant achievements in this field, and I will do everything to build on the ongoing cooperation,” the Premier said.

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of the intergovernmental commission, which focuses on comprehensive economic cooperation, strategic partnership and allied relations.

Congratulating Hovik Abrahamyan on his appointment to the office of Prime Minister, Maxim Sokolov highly valued the current level of cooperation between Armenia and Russia. “Bilateral economic cooperation has been developing quite dynamically in recent years, leading to increased trade turnover” the Russian Minister of Transport emphasized.

Mr. Sokolov said to have attended the commissioning ceremony of Albion new technological unit of GeoProMining Group at Ararat gold extraction plant. According to Mr. Sokolov, this testifies that interaction is consistently developing in both trade and investment areas.

The parties discussed a number of other issues concerning the Armenian-Russian cooperation.
