Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan receives IT sector representatives

Newly appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan received the members of the Council of the Union of IT Enterprises.
Welcoming the guests, the head of government stated in part, “Thank you for accepting my invitation, as we will continue to further develop and strengthen our partnership with the IT industry. I am sure that it is very important to our country, economy and civil society. This is my third business day after the appointment. Prioritizing the future of this sector and its cooperation with the government, I am inclined to energize our meetings and discussions, listen to your concerns and suggestions. My approach is practical: not only with your industry, but also with all other industries all of our arrangements will be commitment and responsibility. I look forward to your active participation and suggestions.”
Then Minister-Chief of Government Staff Vache Gabrielyan briefed those present on the ongoing cooperation and programs between the government and the IT industry, the development of which is among the Government’s priorities. A variety of programs have been implemented to this end, an IT Development Support Council is operational by the Prime Minister. It has become a tradition to hold regular meetings and discussions in different formats.
The latest result of such cooperation was the draft to grant privileges to startup IT businesses, which has been sent to the National Assembly with a view to creating special conditions for the promotion of technological entrepreneurship.
Congratulating Hovik Abrahamyan on appointment to the office of Prime Minister, the representatives of IT industries referred to their problems and development prospects. Along with a number of other issues, the Prime Minister discussed with the guests the situation faced in connection with the introduction of the mandatory funded pension system and stressed the importance of continued dialogue in this area. The Premier emphasized the need for personnel training, considering it to be the key to further development.
Reference was also made to the development of the IT sector in the regions. In conclusion, an agreement was reached to keep in touch in order to achieve the desired outcome through dialogue and cooperation.
