 Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan held a working meeting with the directors of the companies carrying out landscaping in the 12 administrative districts of the capital. Expressing his content wuth the work and the achievements of the companies Taron Margaryan stressed that in 2014 the volumes of the work should be doubled. ‘'The results of the activities carried out within the recent years in the sphere of landscaping are obvious. However, we shouldn't be satisfied with what we have achieved, We should justify the expectations of our residents and restore the green Yerevan it used to be once. So it is necessary to double the volumes of the work to accomplish it'', stressed the Mayor.
The Mayor instructed the participants of the meeting to coordinate the projects of landscaping with the Chief Designer of Yerevan so as a unified approach would be used in all the administrative districts. It was also instructed to take into account the climatic conditions of Yerevan, the landscape and other important factors. ''See to it that all new sorts of trees and flowers correspond to our climatic conditions. Besides, keep the process of tree pruning at the focus of attention, apply new ways of design to make the capital look more well-groomed'', said the Mayor.
Concerning the decision of the Council of Elders on obligatory improvement, Mayor Taron Margaryan assigned the persons in charge to ensure active participation of the entrepreneurs in the process of landscaping. To expand the green areas, to improve the environment conditions and to provide sustainable development in the sphere of landscaping Taron Margaryan instructed to increase the volumes of the activities directed at surrounding Yerevan with a forest belt. It was also instructed to prevent illegal cutting down of trees. The Mayor urged everybody to pay attention to sanitary cleaning of the parks and gardens as well as to control the process of irrigation network installation. It was also reported by the persons in charge that the process of landscaping provided for 2014 had already started.
