 In 2014 at the Hotel Complex “Writers House in Tsaghkadzor” the Annual Conference of the Union of School-Centers took place. NA Deputies, headmasters of member-schools of the union, officials from the sphere of education participated in it. The RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Karine Harutyunyan, welcoming the guests of the conference, mentioned in her speech, that schools had been the leading force bringing to the reforms in the sphere of public education. According to Karine Harutyunyan the union carries out activities, innovations to raise the quality of public education. The RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Manuk Mkrtchyan spoke about the course of reforms, issues on involving society in the reforms. Head of the Union of School-Centers, NA Deputy Ruzanna Muradyan summed up the works done in 2012-2013 by the union, as well as program directions and introduced program directions for 2014. Messages of the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan were read at the conference. Head of the National Inspectorate of Education Aram Karapetyan and Head of the Analytical department of the National Inspectorate of Education Zaruhi Mikayelyan delivered a speech at the conference. Presentation of the web-site of the Union of School-Centers also took place during the event, as well as a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Union of School-Centers and “Dilijan international School of Armenia”. It is planned to organize training programs for students and teaching staff. It is also planned that the parties will organize competitions, seminars, and local and international summer camps with the joint participation of students of Armenian schools and UWC Dilijan College.
