The tournament of young chess players of Yerevan has been over

The Mayor of Yerevan, president of Yerevan Chess Federation Taron Margaryan together with the director of the Armenian chess Academy Smbat Lputyan were present at solemn ceremony of closing of the Yerevan chess tournament between young people aged 8-16 held in the Chess house after Tigran Petrosyan.
Congratulating the participants of the Yerevan 2014 youth chess tournament Mayor Taron Margaryan wished them success and new achievements. "No matter what result each of you showed in this tournament, I'd like to congratulate all of you as achieving the right to participate in such a responsible tournament is a victory itself. This tournament is also important as its winners get the right to take part in the semi-final of the Armenian championship and this is a serious step on the way leading to big chess. The tournament is becoming more inclusive year by year and the number of participants is increasing. I should not that serious steps are taken nowadays to develop and popularize this kind of sport. We already have 3 chess schools in Yerevan and this year their number will increase by 5. And the most important aspect is that the schools are free of charge for the chess loving children. I am sure that irrespectively of today's results you will go on working and training and will uphold the honour of Yerevan in any competition you take part", stressed the Mayor. Taron Margaryan also assured that the Yerevan Chess Federation as well as the Municipality of Yerevan will always be next to them and be ready to do their best to keep the achievements of Yerevan sportsmen and to support them in achieving new success.
The director of the Armenian Chess Academy Smbat Lputyan in his turn congratulating the participants of the tournament expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Yerevan, the president of the Yerevan Chess Federation Taron Margaryan for the firm and purposeful steps made in the issue of implementation of the programs directed at te development of this kind of sport in the capital. "Yerevan is becoming more and more chess city day by day and all this is owing to the Mayor of Yerevan, now the president of the Yerevan Chess federation as well. Thank you, Mister Mayor, for undertaking this important mission and I am sure that due to your systematic work we will record new achievements in chess", said Smbat Lputyan.
Yerevan Mayor awarded the participants of the youth chess tournament of 2014 with cups and medals. The winners of the tournament got the right to participate in the semi-final of the Armenian youth chess tournament.
