 Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan and the representative of the Children's Foundation of the UNO Henrietta Arens discussed the issues related to children's rights defence, particularly, to inclusive education in the schools of Yerevan.
Henrietta Arens introduced the main points of the corresponding report presented to the RA Government and said that it was planning to carry out a corresponding campaign with the participation of various organizations and structures interested in the issue to provide full participation of the children with disabilities in educational processes.
Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan noted that the Municipality is ready to discuss and supplement the submitted proposals. Aram Sukiasyan stressed that the Municipality is carrying out a number of projects directed at the development of the system of inclusive education instilled in schools subordinated to the Municipality and as an example he mentioned the program of construction of ramps in 2013 and 2014.
"In this issue our interests coincide and I am sure that we will cooperate. We are ready to discuss your proposals and put them on practical basis", said Aram Sukiasyan.
The head of the Department of General Education of the Municipality of Yerevan Gayane Soghomonyan who was present at the meeting added that the cooperation with this working group of the Children's Foundation of the UNO showed good results and this means that the further programs will be successful too.
