PM Holds Festive Reception For Media Representatives
13.01.2014
On New Year and Christmas festivities, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan welcomed mass media representatives to the Government’s Conference Hall.
On behalf of his government, Tigran Sargsyan congratulated those present on the occasion, wishing them fruitful and exciting work.
“Mass media are playing an important role in Armenia, especially if we consider that over the past five years, you have shouldered a task of high responsibility in terms of strengthening democracy. It is hard to imagine the formation of civil society without your active participation: success in this area will be driven by your effective work. We often talk about responsible media, considering that you are part of the political power and influence the public mood by proposing new ideas and, why not, leading the society. In this respect, I highly value the achievements recorded in mass media, especially as we see deep analyses relevant to the formation of civil society. I wish you every success in this field of activity. May the year 2014 bring us love, harmony and peace, and I wish above all you could disseminate this sentiment in our society.”
For keeping a steady focus on government activities and active cooperation, a number of media representatives were awarded the Prime Minister’s commemorative medal, letter of appreciation and a souvenir - a nominal watch.
