THE NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF LATVIA TO ARMENIA PRESENTED HER CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Republic of Armenia Elita Gavele (residence in Tbilisi) presented her credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.
The President congratulated Ambassador Gavele on her appointment, wished success and expressed hope that during her tenure in office she will do her best to use her professional abilities and experience to further relations between Armenia and Latvia.
The parties stressed the importance of the Armenian-Latvia cooperation in bilateral as well as multilateral formats.
Ambassador Elita Gavele on behalf of her country expressed readiness in the first half of year 2015, during Latvia’s Chairmanship at the EU to cooperate closely with Armenia and provide necessary assistance. She underscored that in the mentioned period of time, Eastern Partnership program will be a priority for Latvia.
The two sides discussed a number of issues pertinent to the invigoration of the political dialogue between Armenia and Latvia and development of cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The President of Armenia and Ambassador of Latvia exchanged also views on the regional issues.
