 During the regular working conference Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was reported regarding the snow cleaning activities that all the structures subordinated to the Municipality had carried out appropriate activities at the daytime and at night to eliminate the consequences of the snowfall in the capital and to provide safe traffic. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to provide snow removal not only in the central but in the secondary streets and yard areas as well. To provide proper organization of the work it was instructed to involve the special machinery of the private companies in accordance with the preliminary agreement. The Mayor instructed to set special control over the economic entities as well. In particular, those entities which don’t meet their contractual obligations concerning cleaning and improvement of the areas surrounding their objects, shall be disciplined.
It was reported that because of the snowfalls some passenger transportation companies rendered improper services not providing required number of vehicles. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the persons in charge to invite the representatives of the companies servicing the routes to the conference and warn them strictly to meet the contractual obligations undertaken by them.
"We can’t accept any explanations for improper service especially taking into account that it is a contractual obligation which means definite responsibility up to license revoking in case the company fails proper servicing. Warn all of them firmly to meet the obligations undertaken and not to try to justify their activity with any reasons. Ensuring the proper service for our residents is a task of priority for us and they are obliged to do it. Watch strictly so that necessary number of vehicles was provided and the itineraries were served in accordance with the timetable", stressed Taron Margaryan.
Regarding the competition for selection of the companies providing regular passenger transportation by public transport in Yerevan, which was scheduled for December 12 it was reported that as no applications had been received the competition can't be held again.
It was reported that due to strict control going on with the aim of prevention illegal open-air trade 10 cases had been revealed and records had been drawn up. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to organize in some places everyday markets for selling agricultural products prior to the New Year since December 20. This way the trade will be more organized and available. It was instructed to keep under control the open-air sales of natural firs and pines imported to Armenia by certain private companies.
Regarding the gas supply process of the blocks of flats in the 16th quarter it was reported that 13 blocks of flats had been finished and fully supplied with gas. By the New Year some other blocks of flats will have been supplied with gas. The Mayor instructed to go on the work and present regular information on it.
Regarding the process of dismantling big advertisement boards in the small center of the capital the head of the Department of External Design and Advertisement reported that as a result of the program 106 advertisement boards had been dismantled. To keep on the work it was instructed to inventory the boards and present suggestions on going on the process the following year.
Regarding the equipment of the bus stops with e-timetables and the expansion of the project the head of "Technology Management Center of Yerevan" reported that the second party of the equipment about 30 samples had already been imported and the process of software programming and testing was going on at that moment. It was also reported that with installation of the equipment 52 pus stop cabins will be provided with e-timetables.
Regarding the activities of road construction of the new motorways connecting Leningradyan street to Isakov avenue and Ulnetsi street to Rubuinyants street it was reported that the work had already been over in Ulnetsi-Rubinyants s road and it had been put into operation. Regarding the express motorway connecting Leningradyan to Isakov it was reported that the work is it the final stage.
It was reported that the preliminary locations for the wheelchair ramps to be constructed in 2014 had been determined to provide free movement for the people with locomotor disabilities. It was also noted that the people with locomotor disabilities has expressed their gratitude to the Mayor of Yerevan for the initiative of the Municipality to make it possible for interested organization and other beneficiaries to participate in the process of construction the wheelchair access for the disabled people provided by the programs of 2013 and for taking into account their proposals. The Mayor instructed to go on applying the approaches and include the beneficiaries both in the process of drafting and in the stage of acceptance the activities carried out within the program/
"In this regard, in 2013 we had an effective cooperation with the interested organizations and beneficiaries and this proved once again that the adopted approach is justified and required. Thus, the cooperation should be continuous and I am confident that due to our joint efforts we will be able to make the capital more convenient for our compatriots with disabilities. And the most important thing is that all the projects we are going to implement in the future will be co-ordinated with them and they will control the process of implemetation and only after their positive conclusion we will consider the work done", stressed Mayor Taron Margaryan.
It was reported that certain activities are carried out to adjust some buses for the people with locomotor disabilities. It was instructed to oblige some private companies engaged in passenger transportation to provide buses with wheelchair access.
Referring to the process of hole filling in the capital it was instructed to go on the process as a temporary alternative solution in the streets where holes may create traffic inconvenience till the beginning of the main asphalting process in spring.
It was reported that festive decoration and illumination of the capital is still going on and will be finished in accordance with the determined schedule.
