PM Welcomes Tsugio Makimoto, Recipient Of 2013 Presidential Award For Global Contribution To IT Sphere

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received Chairman of Semiconductor Industry Association, President of Techno Vision Company, former CEO of Hitachi, recipient of the 2013 Presidential Award for Global Contribution to the IT sphere Tsugio Makimoto.
Congratulating Tsugio Makimoto on receipt of the 2013 Presidential Award, Tigran Sargsyan stated in part, “It is a great honor to welcome such a respected person in Armenia. I am confident that your visit is closely followed by the Armenian society, especially by young people. It can help promote ever-growing interest to research in the IT sphere,” Tigran Sargsyan said.
Appreciative of the Armenian government’s focus on information technologies, Tsugio Makimoto said the IT industry is nowadays a key driving force in the global economy. Tsugio Makimoto expressed conviction that there are great prospects for development of IT sector in Armenia and noted the importance of cooperation between Armenia and Japanese companies.
In this context, the parties discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral ties and exchanged views on the further development of the IT sector in Armenia.
