A visit to the Center for Armenian Heritage in Valence

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan who is in France with an official visit with the aim of participation in the Armenian-French Decentralized Cooperation and the vise Prime Minister of the RA, the Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan visited the Center of Armenian Heritage of Valence in the company with the Mayor of Valence Alain Maurice.
As the employees of the center said, the center is considered to be a special cultural place for the local Armenian community.
The history of Armenian people including some episodes of the tragic pages of the Armenian Genocide is represented here.
Besides, the center has an exclusive exhibition of the history of formation of the Armenian community in France, especially in the region of Rhone-Alpes and its further development.
The workers of the center also said that the initiative of the construction of this unique center belongs to the Municipality of Valence and it was fulfilled in the summer of 2005.
The Mayor of Valence Alain Maurice in his turn noted that he was really proud that the city has such a center as this is an expression of respect to the residents of valence of Armenian origin who comprised 10 per cent of the population and have their full contribution to the development of the city.
Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and the RA vice Premier Minister, the Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan thanked the Mayor of Valence and the French people for their deep respect to the Armenian people.
