13.10.2013
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan traveled to Gyumri to participate in festivities dedicated to the town.
Accompanied by Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration Vache Terteryan, Shirak Marz Governor Felix Tsolakyan and Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan, the Prime Minister called at the Folk Architecture and Urban Lifestyle Museum of Gyumri to attend a bread festival hosted under the “Gyumri: cultural capital of the Commonwealth of Independent States – 2013” program, which represented Gyumri inhabitants’ customs and traditions and local cuisine.
On behalf of the Government and himself, the Premier extended congratulations on the day of the town stating in part: “It is highly emblematic that the day of Gyumri is marked together with this bread festival since Gyumri is being rehabilitated and reborn, and I feel that your festive mood and enthusiasm will last forever. Gyumri has always been a cultural center. For this very reason, any program that we may initiate in Gyumri will have a cultural bias. I wish you all everlasting festive mood.”
Tigran Sargsyan was introduced to the sculptures being created in the frame of the International Sculpture Symposium, which as finalized will be placed in different parks and avenues of the town.
The Head of Government next visited “Style” art gallery, where he enjoyed joint works authored by Gyumri Fine Arts Academy students and teachers. The Prime Minister also visited the renovated Regional Library, where he was briefed that the library had been supplemented with new books and publications and that a digitization campaign was underway already.
