 On the instruction of Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the first stage of dismantling big and medium advertisement boards in the small center of Yerevan going on within the frames of the program of external advertising modernization, has been over. This was reported to the Mayor by the head of the Department of External Design and Advertisement during the current working conference. It was also reported that 59 advertisement boards had been dismantled within the frames of the work. The second stage of the work will start on November 4 and go on till November 20. Taron Margaryan instructed to perform regular information on the process.
Regarding the programs aimed at the expansion of landscaping volumes it was reported that preparations for the tree planting scheduled for November 1 are going on to provide proper organization of the process. Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that according to the determined principle, tree planting will be fulfilled only in irrigated areas.
"To keep and expand the green areas in the capital we install about 20 km of irrigation net every year. Because of the lack of irrigation system for years the establishment of the trees was rather low. In the budget of 2014 we plan to expand the irrigation net. Tree planting should be carried out in all the areas where irrigation has been provided. Consistent work should be carried out to provide high level of establishment of the trees", said Mayor Taron Margaryan.
The mayor also instructed to pay special attention to the activities aimed at expansion of flowered areas in 2014.
Referring to the process of hole and crack filling in the streets and yard areas of the capital the head of the Department of Building and Improvement reported that corresponding work had been carried out in 65 streets the previous week. The mayor instructed to activate the process and arrange it in three shifts.
Regarding the competition scheduled for October 17 to select the organizations developing regular passenger transportation by public vehicles it was reported that corresponding notification is going to be provided but up to now no participation application had been received. The deadline for the applications is October 9, 18.00.
The head of the Department of Communal Services reported that the program of winter preparations had been made up according with the administrative and spheres.
The head of the Department of Culture and Tourism reported that on the event of the Librarians' Day, at the threshold of the holiday an action had been organized in the library after Avetik Isahakyan with the participation of the representatives of all the libraries of the capital. Congratulations on the Mayor's behalf were conveyed to all librarians and some of them were awarded with Yerevan Mayor's diplomas for their contribution in the development of librarianship and many years' devoted work.
