PRESIDENT RECEIVED DIRECTOR OF RF FEDERAL SERVICE ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CONTROL

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Director of RF Federal Service on Control of Drug Trafficking, Chairman of the Coordinating Board of the Heads of the relevant law enforcement bodies of the CSTO member states on fight against the illegal drug trafficking Victor Ivanov, who has arrived to Armenia to participate at the Channel-Caucasus – a local operative preventive event conducted October 1-4 in Yerevan and aimed at fighting the illegal drug trafficking. The event is being organized in the framework of the activities of the law enforcement bodies of the CSTO member states.
Noting that one of the main directions of the CSTO activities is coordination of the forces of the member states in fighting against modern challenges and threats, President Sargsyan noted that illegal drug trafficking is one of such threats. With this regard, the President of Armenia stressed the importance of conducting in Yerevan of the Channel-Caucasus local operative preventive event and welcomed all measures which are aimed at fighting that universal evil. The President noted that even though in Armenia we take pride in the results of our fight with this extremely dangerous crime, nevertheless fight against that evil must be of a continuous nature.
The parties stressed the importance of the international General Staff works which coordinated the Channel-Caucasus local operative preventive event.
At the meeting, the interlocutors also praised cooperation between the RA Police and RF Federal Service on Drug Trafficking Control.
