PRESIDENT RECEIVED PARTICIPANTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE YSU LAW DEPARTMENT

President Serzh Sargsyan received today participants of the international scientific Conference on Contemporary issues of the Development of Legal Regulation: National and International Legal Aspects, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Law Department of the Yerevan State University. The event is attended by the delegations representing International Bar Association and the Association of the Court of Judges and Prosecutors of Federal Court of Germany including renowned lawyers, academicians, judges and prosecutors.
The President of Armenia welcomed the guests and at the beginning of the meeting congratulated the faculty of the Law Department of the YSU on the 80th anniversary of the Department, wished every success and efficient work. Serzh Sargsyan highly valued the years-long activities of the Law Department with its rich traditions in the development and formation of our state and noted that through the decades the Department has been fulfilling its mission effectively, training professional cadre for the law enforcement bodies and state structures of the Republic.
The President of Armenia stressed the importance of high class special education which, according to Serzh Sargsyan, can ensure greater legal awareness which is directly linked to the efficient state governance and development.
The Dean of the YSU Law Department Gagik Ghazinian presented to Serzh Sargsyan the calendar of the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Department, the working process of the Conference conducted in that framework, results of the Department’s cooperation with the colleagues from foreign states. The participants of the meeting spoke with President Sargsyan about the judicial processes in their countries, common problems, and achievements.
At the meeting, the parties spoke also about the Constitutional developments in Armenia, judicial reforms, legal education, and problems of education.
