Within the frames of the program the yard has been equipped with new benches, bowers and playing attractions. The yard areas has been supplied with night lighting.
As the residents assure, the yard had been neglected since the Soviet times. They expressed their delight and gratitude to the Mayor for the well-arranged yards the number of which is increasing day by day and for his initiatives aimed at making Yerevan more comfortable. They also mentioned that they gladly joined the Mayor’s urge and freed the illegally occupied “kitchen garden” areas by their own means so that they could have a comfortable recreation zone.
Within the frames of the visit Mayor Taron Margaryan visited the building site where the motorway of 2,6 km length connecting Ulnetsi and Rubinyants streets is being constructed. As a result of this big road construction project being carried out in the capital the traffic at David Anhakht-Rubinyants and Rubinyants-Sevak streets will be significantly relieved.
The builders reported to the Mayor that the work was going on in accordance with the determined schedule. Within the frames of the program the existing railway bridge has been reconstructed and broadened and now it is of 66 m length, 7,5 m width and one-meter sidewalks on both sides. The draft was presented to the Mayor on spot: he was shown what activities were going on in each segment of the road at that moment.
In parallel with the road construction the rain drainage and sewage systems have been changes. Installation of external lighting is going on at the moment.
86 pillars with 172 lanterns will be placed along the whole road. "The program was divided into two stages. The first stage included 1,9 km and it has been mainly finished; the second stage includes 600 m which is already coming to its end. The final segment of the road is remaining and it will be finished and put into operation within the coming month. With the construction of this road we solve four problems. First, we will significantly reload the traffic in the capital by relieving the transport flows in busy Rubinyants street. Secondly, about 10 thousand residents live in this area and it used to be rather inconvenient for them to get to their places and today this comfort is provided. Besides, there used to be no sewage in these areas and due to this project we have solved both the problem of sewage and drinking water and external lighting", said the Mayor.
Watching the process of the work implementation the Mayor instructed to keep the process under permanent control to ensure the quality and the terms of the work. “I give the quality of the road construction a positive assessment. The quality of performance is permanently under control both of the specialists, my Deputy and mine», stressed the Mayor.
The length of the new road connecting Karapet Ulnetsi and Rubinyants streets will make up 9 m, sidewalks of 1,5 m length will be constructed in both sides.
