Armenian Government, Oracle Sign MOU

 Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by Alain Blanc, Senior Vice President of the U.S.-based Oracle IT Company.

“The IT sector is one of the priorities of the Government of Armenia, with 5-20% annual growth recorded in this field. Welcoming the emerging cooperation with Oracle, we are confident that the partnership will give new impetus to IT industry in our country,” the Prime Minister said.

The parties discussed a broad range of issues pertaining to long-term cooperation in the fields of innovations and scientific-technological research, as well as the introduction of Oracle-developed innovative solutions and technologies in Armenia.

Alain Blanc expressed confidence that the entry of the U.S. company will be successful, which in turn will facilitate the implementation of innovative programs.

Then, attended by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Armenian Government and Oracle Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed by Minister-Chief of Government Staff Vache Gabrielyan for authorities Government of the Republic of Armenia and Senior Vice President Alain Blanc for oracle Company.

The MOU implies capacity building in the framework of the Oracle educational program, survey for broader application of Oracle’s innovative solutions in public agencies, establishment of Oracle’s center of excellence in Armenia and so on.

Note that the two sides reached a cooperation arrangement during a meeting held between Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Oracle’s top executives in Frankfurt as early as on December 7, 2012.
