PM Appreciates Quality Of Emergency Situations Ministry Services

 Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended a ceremonious event dedicated to the professional holiday of emergency service staff, which was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Extending congratulations on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and himself, the Prime Minister stated in part: “Owing to your everyday work, there is an ever-growing belief in society that the quality of emergency services has improved over time and that we have a well-organized institute of emergency services in Armenia. By constantly improving the quality of emergency services, you were able to win the people's trust, which is our most important achievement.”

As the Premier noticed, vested with increasingly wider scope of tasks, the Ministry is ensuring multifaceted activities. The Ministry staff is mastering new knowledge and skills to provide new type of services.

Tigran Sargsyan noted that greater attention is paid to the introduction and use of modern methods, which are directed to the Emergency Situations Ministry's international cooperation. International cooperation helps the Ministry apply new methods and modern technologies in work.

“We can see Armenia's international standing upgraded thanks to your work as you have demonstrated that our country can be involved in cross-nation rescue efforts worldwide. In this respect, we have become an integral part of the international community,” Tigran Sargsyan pointed out.

The head of government stressed the importance of preventive measures as a priority in order to ensure minimum losses in case of an emergency. In this regard, the Premier said that the Ministry programs seek to enhance the intellectual and research potential. The Ministry has managed to mobilize Armenian scientists to address possible challenges, and this is the pledge of improved performance.

Under a presidential decree, Deputy Director of Rescue Service, Colonel Nikolay Grigoryan was awarded the title of Major-General of Rescue Service. The certificate was handed in by the Prime Minister himself. According to another presidential decree, several employees were awarded Anania Shirakatsi medal on their professional holiday. Others were presented with the Prime Minister’s commemorative medals, letters of appreciation and souvenirs.

In conclusion, attended by the Premier, a monument to emergency servicemen was unveiled in Yerevan.
