"This is a double holiday for me: first, because another school has been overhauled and restored in Yerevan and handed to the pupils and the teachers’ staff, and of course because the school bearing my father’s name admits the pupils who will become our future and will strengthen our statehood, our country. When three years ago we visited this school and renamed it, it looked rather shabby and neglected. The problem was raised by the parents, pupils and the staff of the school. Cooperating with the Ministry of Science and Education we will try to provide comfortable conditions in all schools of Yerevan. Taking the opportunity I’d like to express gratitude to all organizations and people who participated in the school repairing", said Taron Margaryan.
Today the school provided for 450 pupils is supplied with all conveniences. In parallel with overhauling the school equipment was refreshed too, the computer and subject labs were supplied with necessary equipment. About AMB 500 million was spent on the school repairing.
Mayor Taron Margaryan walked about the school, familiarized himself with the conditions, talked with the pupils.
Answering the journalists’ questions regarding the event Taron Margaryan said that as it is accepted in traditional Armenian families, on his first school day he was accompanied by his parents. The Mayor added that today he goes on following the principles and precepts of his blessed memory father.
"First of all to stay Armenian and go on the traditions of the senior generations. To keep the roots we came from and follow this principle", stressed Taron Margaryan.
