Tigran Sargsyan, Bako Sahakyan Discuss Joint Program Implementation Areas

On the first day of his visit to Artsakh, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan.
Felicitating Bako Sahakyan on Artsakh independence anniversary, Tigran Sargsyan emphasized that Armenia will continue assisting Artsakh with its development effort by promoting international investment.
Noting the importance of continued cooperation between the two Armenian states, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the NKR President underscored the deepening and expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of reforms.
In this context, the parties touched upon a number of issues related to joint programs in the field of pensions, as well as in the healthcare, agricultural, industrial and educational sectors.
Talking to news reporters, Tigran Sargsyan stressed the importance of meetings like this, which help assess the pace of joint work and outline new programs. The Head of Government stressed the importance of pension reform and legislative streamlining.
“I am excited to get acquainted with those successful projects implemented Artsakh, since our political principle has always been the following: economic development should be progressive in Nagorno - Karabakh, because it is obvious that Nagorno-Karabakh is crucial to the future of our nation. Our victories should be enshrined in the economic sphere as well,” Tigran Sargsyan noted.
Speaking about the significance of the NKR independence anniversary, the Prime Minister stated in part, “This is a celebration not only for Artsakh, but also for Armenians worldwide, because we are proud to eye the future in the 21st century as we are celebrating a great victory – the independence of the Nagorno - Karabakh Republic.”
