Tigran Sargsyan, Georgy Kwirikashvili Discuss Relationship Expansion Agenda
29.08.2013
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by Georgian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Georgy Kwirikashvili.
Mindful of developing ties with Georgia, the Prime Minister stated in part: “We need to continue endeavoring toward the expansion of bilateral ties, since it is in the best interest of our two peoples. A common space has to be created where our peoples will be free to cooperate in various fields, which in turn can provide greater opportunities for strengthened economic ties.”
According to the Head of Government, there is full understanding in all the matters of mutual concern, which is a key precondition for the development of the Armenian-Georgian brotherly interaction.
Thankful for reception, the Deputy Prime Minister said that the Georgian authorities, too, are interested in building strengthened ties and implementing mutually beneficial investment projects with Armenia in different fields of activity.
In this context, Tigran Sargsyan and Georgy Kwirikashvili discussed ways of furthering cooperation in transportation, customs administration, agriculture and tourism, as well as the possibility of reinstating direct flights between Yerevan and Tbilisi.
Appreciating the activities of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission, the parties have agreed to hold one in the near future.
