29.07.2013
Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan visited NATFOOD meat-processing company, which in 2009 was granted a 3-year VAT holiday for a government-approved investment program.
As a result, the company built a modern meat-packing plant in Yerevan’s Nor-Nork district to a total cost of nearly USD26mn (about 10.5 billion Armenian drams, of which about 4.3 billion drams in imported equipment).
Accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, the Prime Minister toured the plant’s two laboratories and workshops getting acquainted with the production process, working and sanitary conditions. The plant is equipped with modern laboratory-production equipment and technologies.
As the successor of Biella Co., founded in 1998, NATFOOD embarked upon a new cutting-edge plant in 2008, which was complete in January, 2013. The company holds today a leading position in the region, with up to 40 ton daily capacity. Its state-of-the-art technology and equipment made it possible to expand the range of products, improve output quality and introduce ISO management system. The company currently employs 120 people. This figure will be 180 at full capacity.
