 Within the frames of his official visit to Riga Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan was at "Getlini" waste recycling factory of Riga with a cognitive visit.
The waste recycling factory was built in 1998 in the area lining Getlin marshes in the 70s of the last century. Today the factory is considered to be one of the most ecologically clean dumps of Europe.
The director of the factory Imants Stirans presented in details the whole process of waste recycling, as well as the practical efficiency of its right management. So, today "Getlini" has recorded special results in a number of ecological directions. The waste recycling factory accepts both kitchen and building wastes.
In case of wastes which can’t be recycled they are removed to hermetic bio-environment where the produced gas is replaced to power-generating unit. According to the director, to make the work of the factory more efficient certain steps are taken now to organize the process of sorting the wastes in the area of the factory.
