An international exhibition of trees and flowers has been opened in Yerevan

 By the initiative of Yerevan Municipality the first international exhibition of trees and flowers has been opened in the Sport and Concert Complex after Karen Demirchyan. Various sorts of trees, plants, flowers and compositions, stuffs and materials necessary for their care, as well appliances related to creation and decoration of green zones were displayed at the trade exhibition.
Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Kamo Areyan, deputy Minister of Urban Development Ruzan Alaverdyan, heads of administrative districts and other officials walked about the pavilions and got acquainted with the samples.
Representatives from Armenia, Russia, China, Iran, Georgia, Holland, India, Indonesia, Thailand and Nigeria participated in the exhibition.
The participants expressed hope that due to the exhibition the companies will find their consumers at the Armenian market, too.
“The exhibited plants and flowers don’t grow in Yerevan, but they can be adapted to our climatic conditions. In our further landscaping activities we will use these trees and flowers. And if the previous year the flowered areas made up 5,2 hectares, this year they will increase by a hectare and the total area will made up 30 hectares. As a result of large-scale activities carried out, till 2015 the amount of green areas per capital will increase by another few square meters making up 12 sqm. We also have perspective programs to make this rate 16 sqm”, said the head of the Department of nature Protection of the Municipality of Yerevan Avet Martirosyan.
The exhibition is open till June 10.
