 During the regular working conference Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, referring to the discussions caused by the announcement of the open republican architectural competition for the conceptional project of reconstruction of Republic square said that the aim of the competition is to get professional suggestions and to hear out the suggestions of the residents in this issue.
"Yerevan is a developing city and should always have its conception for development and project documentation however it doesn’t mean that all suggestions could be acceptable or realized at once. Today we are carrying out a number of urban development projects the drafts of which were passed to us from our predecessors. In particular, the project of construction of a highway connecting Isakov avenue to Leningradyan street being implemented at the moment was worked out in the 1970s, and today we are fulfilling it. In our turn we should work out different projects some of which we will implement now if it's possible and the other ones we will hand down to next generations", said Taron Margaryan instructing to announce open competitions for reconstruction and development of other squares of the capital.
During the conference the head of the Department of Trade and Services reported that in order to exclude illegal money collection at car parking places in the capital a number of corresponding measures had been taken. It was instructed to carry on the activities and keep the issue at permanent focus of attention.
With the aim of activation of agricultural product trade Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to set tight control over keeping sanitary norms and in case of finding defects corresponding measures are to be taken. It was also instructed to submit proposals regarding organization of new agricultural markets.
It was reported that everyday control is going on over the process of cleaning the streets, parks and yard areas, as well as over obligatory improvement of the surrounding areas by the owners and leasers of real estate. 64 entities which hadn't met their obligations were disciplined.
Taron Margaryan instructed to announce a competition for improvement of the surrounding public areas and to award the best entities.
Regarding overhauling and current repairing of asphalt cover it was reported that permanent control is implemented over the quality of the work.
A representative of "Electricity lines of Armenia" company reported that in accordance with the program, 231 damaged and shabby electricity pillars in the territory of Yerevan had been replaced and renewed as a priority.
The director of "Technology Management Center of Yerevan" reported that the process of placement e-timetables at the public transport stops is still going on.
With the aim of submitting suggestions regarding the perspectives of Yerevan development Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to place suggestion boxes in lively parts of Yerevan through which residents of Yerevan will have the opportunity to convey their opinions to the Municipality.
The head of the Department of Nature Protection reported that to make the landscaping activities in the capital more active new employees are being recruited. Those who want to apply for vacant season jobs can contact the corresponding department of the Municipality of Yerevan.
