PRESIDENT SERZH SARGSYAN HAD A FAREWELL MEETING WITH THE AMBASSADOR OF SWITZERLAND TO ARMENIA

 Today, President Serzh Sargsyan had a farewell meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Armenia Constantin Obolenski who is concluding his diplomatic mission in our country.

The President expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for his efficient work aimed at the strengthening of the Armenian-Swiss relations, noting that during his tenure as the first resident ambassador Switzerland initially established its diplomatic mission and later opened the embassy.

The President of Armenia and the Swiss Ambassador noted with mutual satisfaction the noticeable invigoration of the Armenian-Swiss political dialogue especially in recent years, which has found its manifestation in the reciprocal high level visits, active contacts in different international settings, steps aimed at the strengthening of the interparliamentary relations, implementation in Armenia through the Swiss assistance of the development programs in certain areas as well as in the constructive approach and clear-cut position of Switzerland on a number of issues which are of vital importance for Armenia.

Ambassador Constantin Obolenski thanked the President of Armenia for his appreciation and warm words and noted that he conducted his diplomatic mission in Armenia with great pleasure, in the amicable atmosphere and was leaving with the best impressions, and would remain Armenia’s and the Armenian people’s good friend.
