Several Spheres Subject To Guillotine

Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, the Economic Regulatory Reform Council met in Office of Government.
The meeting was also attended by international expert, author of Regulatory Guillotine Scott Jacobs, as well as IMF, OSCE, UNDP, USAID, World Bank and Austrian Development Agency representatives.
Director of National Center for Legislative Regulation Armen Yeghiazaryan presented the results of Regulatory Guillotine’s inventory database, according to which some 2500 legal acts, received from public agencies, have been entered into the database.
It was informed that the database will be available to the public in a couple of days.
The Council approved a program of activities for May-November, 2013, which provides for the reduction or simplification of business processes and related legal acts in the following sectors: tax, customs, culture, social affairs, entrepreneurship, foreign affairs, international relations and education.
Scott Jacobs introduced the method of assessing the impact of expenditures and a strategy to improve the system of assessment in Armenia.
