Parliament Begins the Works of the Four-Day Sittings

On April 29 the parliament began the works of the next four-day sittings.

First, in the name of the parliament the President of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed within the framework of the Open Lesson programme the students and professors of Gyumri branch of the European Educational Regional Academy who were attending the sitting.

The President of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan submitted for the deputies’ approval the amendments being proposed on the agenda of the spring session, also the agenda of the four-day sittings and the special order of the discussion of several bills. After passing the proposed decisions the MPs by voting also enjoyed a legislative package debated in the previous four-day sittings. In particular, the members of the PAP and the RPA factions expressed their views on the issue. In the concluding speech the key reporter Gagik Jhangiryan agreed to move the voting of the issue to the next four-day sittings.

The acting Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan proposed the parliament to completely pass two initiatives of the Government. The Deputy Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Mikayel Melkumyan endorsed the initiatives.

The acting Minister of Finance Vache Gabrielyan presented to the deputies’ consideration thebill “On Amending the law on Income Tax.” The NA President Hovik Abrahamyan once again reminded him about the negative influence of frequently amending the tax legislation.

The MPs and the acting ministers of relevant spheres debated a number of aw packages referring to budgetary system, the RA Criminal Code, education, judicial system.

The National Assembly will continue the debate of the agenda item at April 30 sitting.
