Within his official visit to Artsakh Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan had a meeting the NKR President Bako Sahakyan.
The President of Artsakh greeted the process of development the relations between the municipalities of Yerevan and Stepanakert and the tendency of expanding and deepening the ties attached importance to multi-lateral cooperation with Yerevan considering it useful for Stepanakert and for Artsakh in general.
"It's very important that the cooperation between the municipalities of Yerevan and Stepanakert is not limited with official meetings of the mayors, it bears a practical character as a result of which various activities had been carried out and it's really notable and shows the special treatment which, Mr Mayor is shown especially by you", stressed Bako Sahakyan.
Expressing gratitude for warm welcome and appreciation Mayor Taron Margaryan introduced the projects implemented in different spheres by the cooperation program signed between Yerevan and Stepanakert last September, as well as the planes for 2013. The mayor once again re-stated the willingness of the Municipality of Yerevan to cooperate with other cities of the NKR and show active support in this issue.
"It's very important for us to make our cooperation more practical and tangible, moreover, Yerevan and Stepanakert should have not only partnership but also contain all the components a kinship has. We imagine such a level of our partnership and following it we try to pass the experience Yerevan has to our partnership as soon as possible", said Taron Margaryan informing that certain steps had already been taken to show practical assistance to other cities of Artsakh, particularly pointing out the example of support to Shushi.
Attaching importance to the willingness of Mayor Taron Margaryan in the issue of development of other cities of Artsakh and the practical steps taken President Bako Sahakyan highly appreciated the organization of visits of the parents of fixed-period military servants from Yerevan by the initiative of the Mayor of Yerevan as well as to the visit of the Mayor paid to those military servants considering it a strong moral and psychological support to Armenian soldiers in the issue of strengthening his martial spirit. Taron Margaryan assured that such programs will be lasting.
Within the framework of the meeting the draft project of improvement of "Azatamartiks' park" in Stepanakert was introduced.
The President of Artsakh welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that it will be implemented as soon as possible.
