Vice President of the National Assembly Meets with the OSCE Observation Mission Member

On February 19 Eduard Sharmazanov, Vice President of the National Assembly, met Nikolaos Kouik, member of the OSCE Observation Group, deputy of the Greek Parliament, who visited Armenia to observe the RA presidential elections.

Eduard Sharmazanov noted that in Armenia conducting of democratic elections was an undeniable fact, as a result of which, the power showed political will to continue wide scale reforms.

First, Nikolaos Kouik said that just visiting Armenia he first had been to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and paid tribute to the innocent victims' memory. Touching upon the RA presidential elections he noted that the OSCE Observation Mission had taken all steps prescribed by law and thoroughly recorded the results in order to observe the elections. To the Greek MP’s assessment, this presidential election had recorded a serious progress compared with the previous ones in terms of both pre-election campaign and legality of the very elections. Nikolaos Kouik expressed hope that from now on Armenia would also record bigger progress in the sphere of European integration and European policy, which the European friends of Armenia would support and, first of all, the Greek partners.

In the course of the meeting both sides discussed issues concerning the Armenian-Greek inter-parliamentary relations, the mutual visits of the parliamentary friendship groups, the cooperation of the Armenian and Greek deputies in the sphere of parliamentary diplomacy.
